General and Cultural Trips

Need something bespoke?

Halsbury Sticker

All school trips offer incredible educational value, but that doesn’t mean they always have to be linked to one specific subject!

So, whether you’re thinking about a cross-curricular school trip arranged in conjunction with another department or are interested in arranging a trip with a more general focus, we’re here to help!

Many of our groups choose trips which are not subject-specific but instead provide students with an insight into a culture different to their own. These educational tours are packed with experiences that provide enrichment and enhance their knowledge and understanding of the world around them. They can even be offered as a rewarding end-of-term incentive!

Why arrange a general and cultural trip?

Learn more about the world around them

A general and cultural school trip is a great way to get students out of the classroom to learn more about the world around them. You don’t even have to go abroad – London and Edinburgh are fantastic choices.

Both cities offer a great range of activities and visits to suit all interests, including some of the most prestigious museums and art galleries in the UK.

In Edinburgh, your students can explore Scottish history with visits to the iconic Edinburgh Castle, the Palace of Holyroodhouse and the National Wallace Monument. They can also take a walking tour around the city that inspired J.K. Rowling to write the Harry Potter books!

And in London, see behind the scenes of the Harry Potter movies at the Warner Brothers Studio Tour! Alternatively, we can arrange for you to visit the Houses of Parliament, see a West End Show or explore the Natural History Museum.

Experience a totally different culture

While staying in the UK is fine, a trip abroad could offer something else – the opportunity to experience a new culture.

We offer a great variety of destinations for a general and cultural school trip abroad, such as popular, easy-to-reach European spots, like France and Belgium.

But if you do really want to broaden their horizons, you could take your students to a Middle Eastern or Asian country, where they will explore a way of life that is very different to their own.

In Dubai, students can enjoy a traditional Bedouin meal in the desert. In Vietnam they can visit the floating markets of the Mekong Delta.

In Japan, they can enjoy a traditional tea ceremony. And in China, they can explore the ancient culture with a visit to the Forbidden City in Beijing, before discovering modern China in vibrant Shanghai.

They can explore Buddhist temples and tea plantations in Sri Lanka or explore Communism in the Caribbean with a trip to Cuba. You could even head to Toronto to learn more about Canadian and North American culture.

Wherever you choose to go, we’ll ensure your tailor-made itinerary is packed full of exciting visits and activities to suit your group, interests and learning objectives.

Give them something to look forward to

For your students, your general and cultural school trip will be an experience that they’ll remember for the rest of their lives. And it’s also something that they will really look forward to.

Whether your trip is intended as a reward for hard work, to inspire good behaviour or simply as an opportunity for students to develop their intercultural understanding and enjoy a cultural experience they may not otherwise be able to, the excitement around your trip will be high.

Enjoy the trip as much as your students

Originally founded by former teachers, and with many former teachers still among us, we understand the value of general and cultural school trips and how to make them successful.

Your trip will be completely tailor made, to ensure that it meets your specific requirements and learning objectives. And we’ll be on hand throughout the process to answer any questions you have.

In fact, we’ll be with you every step of the way, from now until you return home at the end of your trip. While abroad, you’ll be able to reach us with just one phone call, at any time of the day or night. And, with this comprehensive level of support while you’re away, you’ll be able to relax and enjoy experiencing the trip as much as your students.
