Hungarians take their music very seriously and, unlike many other European cultures, folk music has been and remains a huge influence on classical and mainstream musicians, including national hero, Franz Liszt. This is what makes Hungarian music so distinctive, and what makes Hungary an exciting choice of destination for a school music tour. Budapest, the nation's capital, is considered one of the most beautiful cities in Europe and offers a number of spectacular venues in which our ensembles can perform.

St Stephen's Basilica
St Stephen's Basilica is the largest church in the city, andtook 55 years to build. The church commemorates the first Christian king of Hungary, who founded the Hungarian state in the year 1000 AD. The grand interior is ornamented with tapestries, frescos, sculptures and paintings by major Hungarian artists. A climb to the dome of the Basilica offers superb views over the city. The church was severely damaged during World War II andthe reconstruction took 20 years, between 1983 and 2003. The church has excellent acoustics and welcomes choirs for a recital at mass.

Esztergom was once Hungary's capital and is situated on the border with Slovakia. The basilica, the tallest building in Hungary, offers animpressive place to perform, whether you are a choir or an orchestra.
