Help your students learn Italian

Our trips combine cultural activities and sightseeing to provide an unforgettable experience of Italy's language and culture.

All of our Italian trips offer your students the opportunity to immerse themselves in the fantastically rich culture and language. This is an exciting experience for students and one that’s certain to leave them with a real passion for all that the country has to offer.

For a great taste of la dolce vita, Rome is hard to beat. The country's capital has been at the heart of Western civilisation for thousands of years. It is a unique and fascinating city, where you can almost stumble across the ruins of the ancient imperial city. Make sure you take the time to visit the Vatican and its incredible museums, which are home to some of the world’s most precious examples of religious art.

Or there is Florence, the birthplace of the Italian language and the centre of the Renaissance. Make sure you take some time to enjoy the incredible art here, at the Uffizi Gallery, the Galleria dell’Accademia or the Palazzo Pitti. And take some time to check out the iconic architecture of St. John’s Baptistry and Brunelleschi’s dome which crowns Florence’s magnificent cathedral.

Spectacular Venice is another fantastic choice. One of the most beautiful cities on Earth, Venice was once a powerful maritime republic and its wealth is still evident in the spectacular palazzi and ornate churches. Your students will love exploring all the city’s most iconic sights, including the Doge’s Palace and St. Mark’s Square. Many of our groups choose to base themselves in the more laidback resort of Lido di Jesolo, which is just a short bus or boat ride from the city.

Or why not try Naples and Sorrento, the home of Italian cuisine and gateway to the Amalfi Coast? Most of our groups choose to base themselves in the beautiful seaside resort of Sorrento, which is within easy reach of the vibrant city of Naples, as well as the spectacular islands in the Gulf of Naples, such as elegant Capri. Your students will love the opportunity to explore Pompeii and the catacombs of San Gennaro, and you can even enjoy a tasty mozzarella experience at a local agriturismo!

Why arrange a foreign language trip?

Get them talking!

Any linguist knows that the best way to get to grips with a language is to go to the country where it’s spoken and totally immerse yourself in it, using the language on an everyday basis. A trip to Italy offers your students the opportunity to do just that.

No matter where you choose to visit, you can be certain that Italians will offer your students a friendly, warm welcome and will encourage them to speak the language.

They’ll return home from your trip with greater confidence in their oral skills and a better understanding of how speaking foreign languages can open doors to incredible experiences.

Immerse them in the Italian culture

Part of the great joy of being able to speak another language is that it allows you to delve deeper into the culture of that country.

And on your trip, your students will love the opportunity to use their language skills to explore the culture.

In Naples, they’ll discover the food that put Italian cuisine on the map! They’ll find out how mozzarella is made, how olive oil is produced, what makes gelato so much creamier than normal ice cream and, of course, they can even enjoy a masterclass in pizza-making delivered by a real pizzaiolo!

In Florence, they can find out how this Tuscan city became the epicentre of the Renaissance. They’ll be able to explore the city’s famous art galleries and museums, including the Uffizi, the Palazzo Pitti and the Galleria dell’Accademia. Italy is a country of many different dialects – here they can discover how the work of famous Florentine poets like Dante led to this city’s dialect becoming the foundation for modern Italian.

An Italian trip to Venice offers students the opportunity to learn more about this once mighty maritime republic that is still considered one of the most beautiful cities on earth. With visits to the Doge’s Palace, St. Mark’s Basilica and the Grand Canal, your students will love exploring this incredible city and its unique culture.

And, of course, Rome offers your students a snapshot of Italy throughout the ages, from the Roman Empire to Fascism and Mussolini, and the modern, democratic state. As well as exploring the Eternal City, you can also visit the Vatican City, the world’s smallest sovereign state and the centre of Roman Catholicism.
