Remember the first time you tasted a croissant you’d ordered yourself in French? Délicieux.

Your French school trip will be filled with memories just like that for your students – we’ll make sure of it.

All linguists know that the chance to learn French in France is invaluable (and irreplicable).

The fact you’re here means you agree.

So, we won’t waste your time trying to convince you to take your students to France (we bet you’ve already got one foot on the plane...or coach).

But we know you’re probably a seasoned traveller who knows France really well by this point. So, why do you need us?

Quite simply, we’re here to do what we do best (plan school trips) so all your attention can be focused on what you do best (teaching). We’re fully accredited, so we can provide comprehensive support throughout the process, including 24-hour support while you’re in France.

We’ll help you choose the best options for your group, we’ll take on all those time-consuming admin tasks and we’ll be there if anything goes wrong.

So, shall we get started?

Popular Destinations For French trips

How to choose your tour

Firstly, we need to make one thing really clear. All our trips are super flexible, so whatever trip you choose, our experts will design it to suit your specific requirements and learning objectives. The itineraries you see on our trip pages are simply suggestions, designed to inspire you.

Having said that, we do tend to group our French trips into two ‘types’, depending on whether or not they include language lessons at one of our partner language schools in France.

French Language Culture Tours

Consider these trips the perfect introduction to France and French culture.

Combining sightseeing and cultural activities, these trips give students the chance to test their language skills ‘in the wild’ and will encourage them to develop a passion for languages, travel and all things French.

You’ll see their confidence soar as they manage to make themselves understood by locals. And watch them be inspired by the experience of using the language to delve far deeper into the culture. They’ll suddenly ‘get’ why learning languages is so important – and how fun it can be.

Because these trips are all about soaking up the atmosphere and experiencing everyday life in France, they’re great for students of all ages and we can arrange them pretty much anywhere (from Paris, Normandy and the Opal Coast in the north, to Nice in the south -  you could even go to Brussels in Belgium).

Many groups choose to end their trip with a bang by tagging on a visit to one of the country’s epic theme parks.

If you’re visiting the north, don’t miss out on Disneyland Paris. Or, for something a little more cultural, you could choose Parc Astérix. And if you’re visiting the Loire, Futuroscope is totally unique (it focuses on media technology).

French Language Study Tours

This is the trip option that includes lessons at one of our partner language schools in France. Traditionally, groups preparing for exams will often opt for this option, but as your students will be taught in closed groups, it can be suitable for any group.

The first thing you’ll want to know is whether you have any control over what’s taught. Of course, the answer is yes. We’ll put you in touch with the language school ahead of your trip so you can let them know what you want covered.

Generally, lessons take place in the mornings, with cultural activities arranged in the afternoons so students can get out and put those language skills into practice (but the timetable can vary depending on location).

The teachers are all highly-qualified, native French speakers and lessons are usually totally immersive, giving your students maximum exposure to the language.

To complete the total immersion experience, we really recommend that students stay with carefully selected host families (where this option is available), although other options are, of course, available.

Your students’ safety is our number one priority, so we only offer host family accommodation in destinations where all the host families have a clean police record and the dedicated Accommodations Officer at the language school knows them well.

The Accommodation Officer will allocate students to the most suitable host families, who will encourage them to speak French with them, especially during evening mealtimes.

This opportunity to be welcomed into a French home and use their language skills on an everyday basis will really help students to develop beyond the confines of the classroom. It also offers an unforgettable experience and will be a memory that your students will treasure for the rest of their lives.

Destination-wise, we’re really picky about the language schools we work with (they must meet a long list of criteria, including being fully accredited), so the choice is a little more limited than French Culture trips (but there are still lots to choose from).

Obviously, Paris is always popular. But we also have some fantastic partner language schools in Bordeaux, Lyon and Rouen that are very popular with our groups too. If you need a destination that offers a slightly slower pace of life, Nice and Montpellier are great choices. And our partner school in Sète (also in the South of France) exclusively hosts school groups and is one of the most flexible schools we’ve come across (plus, the choice of activities available here is incredible).

FAQs

Why arrange a French school trip?

There’s no better way to get students talking French than by taking them on a school trip to France.

For students learning French, a trip provides the opportunity to immerse themselves in the language and culture. This exciting language experience not only allows them to put their skills into practice by speaking French with native speakers but will also encourage a real passion for the language, as they realise how it can open up new cultural experiences for them.

Should we go on a French Culture trip or a French Language Study trip?

This is totally your call. Adding language lessons will increase the cost of your trip, but if your group is preparing for exams (or you’re just really keen for them to improve their overall level of French) then it’s definitely the best option.

If you’re more interested in your students having the chance to use their French to explore, sightsee and interact with locals, then a French Culture trip is ideal.

We arrange trips like these every single day – so, please use us to help you decide. Just get in touch if you have any questions or need any help making your mind up. And remember, whichever option you choose your trip will be designed to meet your requirements and learning objectives.

Where can we go on a French Culture trip?

We can arrange French Culture trips all over France, from the Opal Coast in the north to Nice in the south. We really can take you wherever you want to go.

Paris is, of course, one of our most popular destinations, as there’s so much to see and do in the French capital. You can visit some of Paris’ most iconic sights, such as the Arc de Triomphe, the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame, or you can focus on a particular aspect of the culture, such as the food, art or history.

If you’re looking for an alternative to Paris, Nice is a great option. There’s still plenty to explore here but the pace of life is much more relaxed, with a Mediterranean flavour.

If you want to enchant your students, why not head to the Loire Valley, where there are fairy tale châteaux everywhere you look?

And don’t forget, you can also include a visit to a theme park, such as Disneyland Paris, Futuroscope or Parc Astérix. This always adds a really exciting element to your trip and ensures that it’s one your students will never forget.

Where can we go on a French Language Study trip?

Some of the most popular destinations for our French language school trips are Montpellier, Bordeaux, Nice and Lyon.

You can, of course, choose to visit Paris, where we work with several excellent language schools. Once your students have finished their lessons, they can spend the afternoons exploring all that the French capital has to offer.

If you’d like to stay in northern France (hello shorter journey times) but want a slightly quieter location than Paris, Rouen makes for an excellent alternative and offers the exciting opportunity to discover iconic French figures, like Joan of Arc and Monet.

Any foodies in your group? Then you need to head to Lyon, the gastronomic capital of France. It’s also home to a wonderfully atmospheric old town, with secret alleyways (traboules) and great shopping. There’s also plenty of sightseeing and culture to enjoy here.

Or why not head south to learn French under the Mediterranean sun (yes, please)? Montpellier is a vibrant university city and a real favourite among our groups for a French language trip. As well as exploring this lovely city, your students can look forward to excursions to Avignon and Nîmes. And don’t forget to take an afternoon to enjoy one of the local beaches.

Alternatively, for a taste of the French Riviera, choose Nice. Your students will enjoy exploring the artistic heritage of this spectacular city, and you could even enjoy an excursion to the famous playground of the rich – Monaco.

Or opt for the gorgeous town of Sète in the South of France, which is nestled between a lagoon and the Mediterranean. The language school here only works with school groups, which means it’s one of the most flexible we’ve ever seen. There’s a city campus with host family accommodation if you’re looking for a total immersion experience. If not, the beach campus offers on-site residence (with unbelievable facilities) and direct access to the beach.
