Why visit Nice?

The capital of the French Riviera

The capital of the French Riviera (Côte d’Azur in French), Nice is a hugely popular seaside destination and so has a vibrant cultural calendar – there’s always something going on here!

Founded by the Greeks, and only becoming part of France in 1860, Nice has a unique history that your students will love exploring.

On your school trip to Nice, you can choose to take a trip to nearby Monaco or Antibes, and should even have time to visit one of the city’s many museums, featuring works by famous artists such as Henri Matisse, who were drawn here by the famously soft light.

Get your students talking!

An elegant city with a relaxed, Mediterranean atmosphere, Nice is a spectacular setting in which to immerse yourselves in the French culture.

There’s plenty of history to discover here, as well as some fantastic art museums and, of course, numerous restaurants, cafes and patisseries in which to explore the French cuisine.

And, if you want to add French lessons to your trip, our partner language school here is fantastic, boasting fully-qualified teachers, all of whom are native French speakers. Lessons take place in closed groups, so you can discuss the content in advance with the teacher and, once lessons are over, your students will be able to use what they’ve learnt in class to explore the city and enjoy some fantastic cultural activities.

The total immersion experience is completed by carefully selected host family accommodation if required.

The rich culture

On your school trip to Nice, your students will have plenty of opportunities to explore the French culture, from taking in the atmosphere on the Promenade des Anglais to checking out a buzzing local market.

You’ll be able to visit art museums, where you’ll find out how the beauty of the area and the incredible light inspired one of France’s greatest artists, Henri Matisse.

And there’s no chance of your students going hungry here – Nice is famous for its cuisine, thanks to plenty of fresh ingredients from the nearby Alpine foothills and the Mediterranean. You mustn’t leave Nice without having tried its famous street food, socca! These are delicious pancakes made from chickpeas – and because they’re both vegan and gluten-free, pretty much everyone can enjoy them!
