Mandarin school trips to China

As well as providing practical experiences of using the language to communicate with native speakers, a school trip to China will also help your students better understand the culture. This is of a huge benefit to young students, as the Chinese culture is not only one of the oldest in the world, it’s also so different to European cultures.

Our Chinese school trip to Beijing not only includes visits to historical and cultural attractions, such as the Great Wall and Tiananmen Square, but also offers the opportunity for students to visit a local school. This will allow them to practise speaking Chinese with local students of their age group.

Your Mandarin school trip to China will be tailor made to suit your specific requirements and learning objectives. We’ll work closely with you to design a school trip that inspires passion for the Chinese language and culture in your students and leaves them feeling much more confident in their language skills.

Why arrange a Mandarin school trip?

Total immersion in the language and culture

Your Mandarin school trip to Beijing will provide your students with the unforgettable opportunity to totally immerse themselves in the Chinese language and culture.

They’ll use their language skills to allow them to experience the culture in a deeper way, which will leave them with a greater enthusiasm for the subject, which could lead to greater engagement once you’re back in the classroom.

As well as visiting a variety of important cultural sites, one of the highlights of your Mandarin school trip to China will be the opportunity to spend an afternoon at a local school. Here, your students will have the opportunity to practise their language skills with local students of a similar age. This will help them to develop their understanding of life in modern China and teenage life and culture in the country.

Taking your students to Beijing will show them why learning Mandarin is so advantageous. They’ll see how a working knowledge of the language allows them to really explore this ancient culture. And they’ll also explore modern China, the most populated country on earth and one of the world’s largest economies.

Develop their understanding of China

China is a country of many different mutually unintelligible languages and dialects and Mandarin Chinese is the lingua franca that allows Chinese people from every corner of this vast country to communicate with each other. Mandarin is also an important language in Singapore and Taiwan, as well as in the United Nations and the wider Chinese diaspora.

And as one of the world’s largest economies, with the world’s largest population, the ability to speak Mandarin is going to be a huge benefit to your students in the future. And the skills they need to speak the language can, of course, be taught in a classroom in the UK.

What cannot be taught in that classroom is a deeper appreciation of the culture, as this has to be experienced. By taking your students to China, you will provide them with the opportunity to better understand what China is all about. They’ll pick up cultural nuances that just can’t be taught in the classroom and this experience and understanding of the culture will help them to better communicate with Chinese people.

On your Mandarin school trip to Beijing your students will learn more about Imperial China with visits to the Forbidden City, the Ming Tombs and the Great Wall of China.

And they’ll be able to learn more about the rise of the People’s Republic of China in Tiananmen Square, where the new state was declared.

They’ll also have plenty of opportunity to spend time with locals, such as the visit to the local school, where they’ll pick up on some of the cultural nuances and find out what life is like in modern China.
