Ecosystems and biodiversity trips in the UK

You don’t have to travel far to find inspiring ecosystems and biodiversity. In fact, staying in the UK could open your students’ eyes to the precious ecosystems we have here, and the need to protect them and promote biodiversity.

If you want to stay in the UK for your school trip, you could consider Cornwall, the North York Moors or the Yorkshire Dales.

In Cornwall, one of the highlights of your trip will be a visit to the Eden Project. As well as exploring the famous two huge domes, which both emulate a natural biome (Tropical and Mediterranean), your students can also attend a curriculum-linked workshop. A variety of topics are offered, including the threats to biodiversity, sustainability and eco-tourism.

If you prefer to visit Yorkshire, you can choose between exploring the Yorkshire Dales or the North York Moors, both of which are home to diverse ecosystems.

Ecosystems and biodiversity trips abroad

If you prefer to go abroad, you could visit Costa Rica, which is famous for its incredible biodiversity. Here, your students can enjoy a tropical rainforest and find out why the country has become an ecotourism hotspot.

Or head to Morocco, where your students can study a desert environment and find out how plants and animals adapt to even the toughest of conditions in order to be able to survive.

You could even head to the volcanic national parks of Barcelona and the Costa Brava, Tenerife or the Azores, all of which boast fascinating and unique ecosystems for your students to discover.

Why arrange an ecosystems and biodiversity school trip?

Bring the topic to life

A trip can really help to bring the topic to life for your students. By seeing ecosystems in action, they’ll gain a deeper understanding of how the various components fit together and how changes to one element can have such a huge impact on the rest of the ecosystem.

They’ll learn more about how the actions of humans can affect ecosystems and will be able to see these effects for themselves.

And they’ll develop a greater appreciation for the importance of biodiversity and the need to support this.

Inspire them to protect their planet

Most importantly, your trip will inspire your students to want to protect their planet.

They’ll have seen for themselves how we’re affecting ecosystems and they’ll learn more about what we can do to support ecosystems and biodiversity in our local area.

By inspiring this passion for the environment in your students, you’ll be helping to ensure that the next generation are informed and empowered to do their bit to protect our precious planet.

Enjoy the trip as much as your students

Originally founded by former teachers, we understand the value of geography school tours and how to make them successful.

Your trip will be completely tailor made, to ensure that it meets your specific requirements and learning objectives. And we’ll be on hand throughout the process to answer any questions you have.

In fact, we’ll be with you every step of the way, from now until you return home at the end of your trip. While abroad, you’ll be able to reach us with just one phone call, at any time of the day or night. And, with this comprehensive level of support while you’re away, you’ll be able to relax and enjoy immersing yourself in geography as much as your students.
