The Upper Barrakka Garden is a public garden in Valletta. It offers a panoramic view of the Grand Harbour and over to the Three Cities. The origins of the Upper Barrakka Gardens go back to 1661, when in effect it was a private garden belonging to the Italian knights. It was not until 1824 that the gardens were opened to the public. The paths are lined with statues that chart events in Maltese history.
