New York is a very popular destination for music tours and is surprisingly affordable. Your students will enjoy performing at some truly wonderful venues, including the United Nations Building, Central Park and, for something totally unique, on board the USS Intrepid. Choral groups are also well catered for, with venues such as St John the Divine, Trinity Church and St Patrick’s all opening their doors for concerts and recitals. Your ensemble will also have the opportunity to take part in a music workshop at the Lincoln Centre.

South Street Seaport

Get ready to find out why they say, "I love New York!". Situated in the heart of the financial district, South Street Seaport is a thriving waterfront destination with a world-class maritime museum, breathtaking views, and more than 100 shops, cafes and restaurants. Cobblestone streets, strolling performers and breathtaking panoramic views of the Brooklyn Bridge, Statue of Liberty and Lower Manhattan have made Seaport one of the city's top five attractions.

Perform an open-air concert in this main square surrounded by many cafes, restaurants and shops. The venue is located beside the Brooklyn Bridge, a great photo opportunity to remind you of your trip.

Saint Patrick’s Cathedral

Whilst Saint Patrick’s Cathedralopened in 1879, it was over 150 years ago that Archbishop John Hughes announced his inspired ambition to build the “new” Saint Patrick’s Cathedral. It is the seat of the archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York. The cathedral is decorated in a neo-gothic-style and is located on the east side of Fifth Avenue between 50th and 51st streets in midtown Manhattan, facing the Rockefeller center.

United Nations

New York has been home to the UN since the organisation’s inception at the end of World War II. A guided tour of the organisation’s headquarters, given by guides from a diverse range of countries, takes in some of the UN’s most important organsincluding the General Assembly and the Security Council. This offers visitors a unique opportunity to catch a glimpse inside the UN.

Choirs with a mixed repertoire can perform in the foyer of this well-known institutional building, whilst bands can play in the outdoor square.

St Peter's Jazz Festival

St Peter's Church community organises a jazz festival each year in the square in front of St Peter's Churchon the east side of Central Park. The festival is very popular and attracts a lot of locals and tourists.
