Maybe you go to the same resort every year and are ready for a change?
Our Ski Specialists have put together their top resorts for 2018/19 – take a look, perhaps you’ll find the perfect destination for your next trip!
The hottest (or should that be coolest?) destinations for 2018/19
• Named ‘Best Ski Resort’ at the 2017 School Travel Awards
• High altitude
• Doorstep skiing
Madonna di Campiglio has long been a favourite of our Ski Specialists and our groups. And this year, the resort was crowned ‘Best Ski Resort’ at the 2017 School Travel Awards. As sponsors of the category, we were delighted to see one of our faves clinch the top spot, especially as the award was voted for by teachers, reaffirming our belief that this is a wonderful choice for a school ski trip.
• High-altitude resort
• Over 400km of piste
• Former Olympic resort
This former Olympic resort is the part of the epic Milky Way area, giving your group access to a whopping 400km of piste! Plus, this is a purpose-built resort, whose location was chosen thanks to the great slopes and good snow security. And, as well as a monorail and covered walkways to help you get around without being too exposed to the elements, the centre is, crucially, traffic-free, making it safer for school groups.
• Doorstep skiing
• Fantastic beginner area
• 95% snow cannon coverage
Another firm favourite among our school groups, Prato Nevoso/Artesina is one of the quieter resorts we offer – but don’t worry, there’s plenty here to keep your group entertained! Part of the Mondolé ski area, you’ll have access to 130km of skiable terrain and there’s a fantastic range of après-ski activities in and around the village.
• Europe’s sunniest ski resort
• Friendly instructors
• Great après-ski
What better reason to choose Alp 2500 for your next school ski trip than the fact that it’s Europe’s sunniest ski resort?! The largest ski area in Catalonia, Alp 2500 will give your group a wonderful taste of Pyrenean skiing. And, with the great variety of pistes here, your group will be well catered for, whether they’re beginners, intermediates, experts…or a mix!
• 145km of piste
• Diverse ski area
• Reliable snow coverage
This diverse ski area combines the challenging runs of Alpbach with the easier cruising terrain of Wildschönau. And it’s this diversity that makes it such a great choice for school ski trips. There are also two fantastic snowparks here, which is good news if your group includes any snowboarders. And you can rely on good snow coverage here – the 300 snow cannons cover over two-thirds of the piste.
• Ideal for beginners and intermediates
• Traditional alpine location
• Great snowpark
This traditional Alpine resort is located in one of the prettiest corners of Switzerland and is the ideal destination in which to inspire a passion for skiing in your students. The skiing here caters for all levels and is particularly good for beginners and intermediates, which is perfect for most school ski groups. And when you finish skiing for the day you’ll find plenty of après-ski activities to enjoy!
