30 Days of Snowsport
Here at Halsbury Ski, our passion is helping teachers to provide youngsters with the opportunity to get involved in snowsports. Therefore, we were thrilled to hear about Snowsport England's new initiative, ‘30 Days of Snowsport’, complementing their ongoing project, ‘Go Ski Go Board’, which aims to combat the fall in people taking up snowsports.
Certainly, in its first year, ‘Go Ski Go Board’ was a triumph, with 10,000 people participating. Part of its success was the ‘Slide2Sochi’ roadshow, which galvanised enthusiasm for the Winter Olympics, and it was this, and the fantastic showing from the Team GB athletes, that inspired more people to have a go at skiing and snowboarding.
’30 Days of Snowsport’ seeks to replicate this with a number of events throughout autumn and early winter that are designed to get people excited about the new season. These events will take place both at dry slopes and indoor centres around the country, as well as online. Some of these events will feature Team GB athletes, whilst others will focus on providing taster sessions for novices and ‘try something different’ sessions for more experienced skiers and boarders. There will also be a number of elite level competitions, including the FIS Moguls event which kicked off the campaign on 12th September at the Chill Factore in Manchester.
Whatever the level of skiing/snowboarding experience of your students, we can arrange a school ski tour that will inspire and encourage a love of snowsports. Contact us now to find out what we can offer your group.
