Not only will your performing arts school trip provide your students with the opportunity to enjoy a Broadway performance first-hand, they can also take part in dance, acting or singing workshops.

New York is also a major filming location, so make sure you take the opportunity to see some of the filming locations of your favourite TV shows and movies, as well as getting the inside knowledge from local guides. And, of course, you can also choose to make this trip cross-curricular, thanks to New York offering such wonderful opportunities for many subjects, including art, media studies and fashion

Suggested Itinerary (Based on 5 days/3 nights)

Broadway Workshop

Take Part in a Broadway Workshop!

Choose from a selection of Broadway-related workshops focusing on the audition process, singing, choreography and stage combat, and backstage processes including make-up and costume design.

With 41 professional theatres, Broadway is the centre of New York City’s theatre district and the best place in the country to see the latest and most iconic shows.

Together with London’s West End, Broadway is seen to represent the highest level of theatre in the English-speaking world, which is why a workshop run by Broadway professionals is a must-do on a performing arts school trip to New York.

Take a Tour of New York's TV and Movie Sites!

See more than 60 locations around New York familiar to you from both the big and small screen!

New York is said to be the most filmed city in the world and many of its landmarks will be familiar to your students, making this a really exciting inclusion in your school trip to New York.

Some of the highlights on the tour include Friends locations, the Ghostbusters firehouse and McGee’s pub, which was the inspiration for MacLaren’s in How I Met Your Mother.

The Ghostbusters base is an active firehouse in Tribeca – Hook and Ladder 8. The firefighters stationed here were among the first to react to the September 11th terrorist attacks.

NBC Studios, New York

Take the NBC Studios!

Take a tour of one of the world’s most famous studios, where Saturday Night Live, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Late Night with Seth Meyers are all filmed.

Your tour will start in the new 4K theatre where you’ll watch a short film documenting the history of NBC, before departing on the tour.

Your students will learn all about the TV production process, including scriptwriting and producing. You’ll then have the opportunity to produce your own show in the Tour Studio, which you’ll be able to download and keep as a souvenir!
