Looking for an out-of-this-world trip to inspire your scientists? Houston, we have lift-off.
America’s fourth largest city, Houston is probably best summed up as a city that oozes urban chic, coupled with Southern hospitality, which makes it a great base for any school trip.
But when you realise it’s also home to NASA’s Johnson Space Center (mission control for manned space flights), it suddenly becomes the only destination for an unforgettable STEM school trip.
Whatever your reason for visiting Houston, as ever we’ll be right by your side every step of the way. So, shall we get cracking?
Well, actually, it is. Or rather, it could be if you choose to visit Houston on a science school trip. That’s because this is ‘Space City’ – home to NASA’s Johnson Space Center and Space-U (its visitor centre).
That means that your young scientists can have a taste of rocket science, engineering and what it takes to become an astronaut. Pretty incredible stuff, right?
Houston is in southeastern Texas, the famous Lone Star State. The second-largest state, Texas has a fascinating history and a rich history of immigration. And nowhere is this more apparent than in cosmopolitan Houston, which is a real melting pot of cultures.
And this means you won’t need to worry about your group going hungry on your school trip to Houston. There’s something to please everyone here (and the portions are always pretty hearty). From Tex-Mex to Asian fusion, Houston’s foodie scene boasts representatives from all over the world – delicious.
