What are French Language trips?

These trips combine an intensive French language course at one of our partner language schools with carefully selected host family accommodation. Some of the most popular destinations for language study tours in France are Montpellier, Nice and Lyon.

Lessons will be taught by highly qualified native French speakers, with content designed to meet your specific requirements. Lessons usually take place in the mornings with the afternoons spent enjoying an exciting programme of cultural activities, designed to help your students learn more about the local culture while at the same time practising the French learnt in their lessons.

Host family accommodation is offered in selected destinations to complete the total immersion experience – all hosts have a clean police record and are well known to the dedicated Accommodations Officer at the language school.

Help your students learn French

We offer language trips in some of the most exciting cities in France! You can, of course, choose to visit Paris, where we work with a number of excellent language schools, meaning we’ll certainly have the perfect fit for your group. Once your students have finished their lessons each day, they can spend the afternoons exploring all that the French capital has to offer!

If you’d like to stay in northern France but want a slightly quieter location than Paris, Rouen makes for an excellent alternative. As well as enjoying French lessons at our partner language school, your students will be able to explore some iconic French figures, including Joan of Arc and Monet!

If you have any foodies in your group, we would highly recommend visiting Lyon, which is the gastronomic capital of France. It’s also home to a wonderfully atmospheric old town, with secret alleyways called traboules to explore, and boasts great shopping too. There’s also plenty of sightseeing and culture to enjoy here.

Or why not head south to learn French under the Mediterranean sun? Montpellier is a vibrant university city and a real favourite among our groups for a French language trip. As well as exploring this lovely city, your students can look forward to excursions to Avignon and Nîmes. And don’t forget to take an afternoon to enjoy one of the local beaches!

Alternatively, for a taste of the French Riviera, choose Nice. Your students will enjoy exploring the artistic heritage of this spectacular city, and you could even enjoy an excursion to the famous playground of the rich – Monaco!

Why arrange a French language trip?

Immerse them in French

The beauty of our foreign language study trips is that they offer a total immersion experience, which will boost your students’ language skills and confidence.

For this reason, this type of trip is always really popular with groups preparing for exams although, as lessons are in closed groups and you’ll be able to discuss the content with the teacher prior to the trip, your group will benefit from this experience regardless.

Lessons will be taught by highly-qualified, native speaking teachers in French. Lessons usually take place in the mornings, with afternoons dedicated to sightseeing and cultural activities. This is when your students can put into practise what they’ve learnt in the classroom and learning more about the local culture.

To complete the total immersion experience, we highly recommend that students stay with carefully selected host families, although other accommodation options are, of course, available. All host families have a clean police record and the dedicated Accommodations Officer at the language school knows them all well.

The Accommodations Officer will allocate students the most suitable host families, who will encourage them to speak French with them, especially during evening meal times.

This opportunity to be welcomed into a French home and use their language skills on an everyday basis will really help students to develop beyond the confines of a classroom. It also offers an unforgettable experience and will be a memory that your students will treasure for the rest of their lives.

Inspire them

By being totally immersed in French and having the opportunity to use it on an everyday basis, in its natural environment, your students will build confidence in their skills and will gain a deeper appreciation of the benefits of speaking a foreign language.

Using French to explore the culture will show them how speaking the language unlocks cultural experiences that would otherwise be inaccessible – such as being welcomed into a French home and being treated as one of the family.

Your students will return home with a greater passion for French, for foreign languages and for travel – what a fantastic gift!

Enjoy the trip as much as your students

Originally founded by former teachers, we understand the value of school trips and how to make them successful.

Your trip will be completely tailor made, to ensure that it meets your specific requirements and learning objectives. And we’ll be on hand throughout the process to answer any questions you have.

In fact, we’ll be with you every step of the way, from now until you return home at the end of your trip. While abroad, you’ll be able to reach us with just one phone call, at any time of the day or night. And, with this comprehensive level of support while you’re away, you’ll be able to relax and enjoy immersing yourself as much as your students.
