As well as enjoying a number of water-based activities such as canoeing, kayaking and sailing, you’ll also be able to try ghyll scrambling and archery! You’ll even enjoy some great team building activities such as high ropes and raft building.

YMCA Lakeside

YMCA Lakeside sits within 400 acres of private woodland on the shores of Lake Windermere and is one of the largest outdoor activity centres in Europe. There is plenty of excellent accommodation here for school groups. The new Stoller Campus boasts 250 beds, and there are another 200 beds across the other accommodations here. As well as accommodation, the YMCA Lakeside also offers nearly 50 land and water-based activities, including kayaking, fell walking, archery and caving.

A mix of rock climbing and caving using the stream bed, ghyll scrambling is a real adventure sport.

Archery in the Lake District

Your students will be given a basic introduction to bows and arrows and will learn basic archery skills under the

Your group will work together to build a raft out of wooden poles, barrels and ropes.

Launching your tour to parents and students

After
you’ve booked

Once you’ve booked, your dedicated Itinerary Coordinator will start working on the finer details. They’ll make sure your itinerary makes the most of your time and they’ll take on most of the admin tasks for your tour (making the whole process a lot less stressful for you).

Support while
you’re away

While you’re out on tour, we’ll be at the end of the phone 24 hours a day to provide support should you need it. We’ll also send you a final info pack before you go and you’ll be able to access all your tour documents via the free Vamoos app.

After
your trip

When you return from your sports tour, we’ll ask you to complete a detailed feedback survey, which helps us continue to improve the service we offer. And we can start planning your next tour too, so you can give parents plenty of time to pay for it (and so it’s less stressful for you).
