Day 1

Morning

Meet at school and board your private coach. 

Travel to Dover. 

Afternoon

Take the ferry to Calais. 

Arrive in Calais and continue your journey to the accommodation. 

Check in, unpack and make yourselves at home.

Evening

Enjoy your first evening together at the accommodation before relaxing and preparing for the adventures ahead. 

Day 2

Morning

Enjoy breakfast at your accommodation before making the short walk across the bridge to the watersports centre, beautifully situated on the edge of the lake. 

Receive a safety briefing and get fitted with all the specialist equipment you'll need for the day. 

Split into groups and begin rotating through the day's activities, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to experience each one. 

Take to the water on a stand-up paddleboarding session, developing balance, coordination and confidence while exploring the lake from a unique perspective. 

Afternoon

Continue the adventure with an exciting catamaran sailing session. Working together as a crew, learn the basics of sailing as you harness the wind to glide across the open water. 

Evening

Refuel after an active day with a three-course evening meal. 

Enjoy exclusive use of the common room, perfect for group activities such as quizzes, games or bingo. 

Day 3

Morning

Enjoy breakfast at your accommodation before heading to Phantasialand, one of Europe's most exciting theme parks. 

Spend the morning experiencing world-class attractions and adrenaline-filled rollercoasters, from the record-breaking launches of Taron to the twists and turns of Black Mamba, alongside immersive themed lands inspired by cultures from around the world. 

Afternoon

Continue your adventure with even more thrilling rides, spectacular live entertainment and family-friendly attractions. Whether you're seeking high-speed thrills or simply soaking up the atmosphere, there's something for everyone to enjoy. 

Evening

Return to your accommodation for your evening meal and share stories from an unforgettable day at the park. 

Day 4

Morning

Enjoy breakfast at your accommodation before returning to the watersports centre. 

Split back into your activity groups and head out onto the lake for an exciting kayaking session. Develop your paddling technique, improve your control on the water and enjoy exploring the lake from a different perspective. 

Afternoon

Put your teamwork and creativity to the test with a raft-building challenge. Using a selection of materials, work together to design and construct a raft before launching it onto the lake to see if your creation can successfully stay afloat. 

Evening

Return to your accommodation for a final evening meal together, celebrating the highlights of an unforgettable watersports adventure. 

Day 5

Morning

Enjoy breakfast at your accommodation before checking out and beginning the journey home. 

Travel through Belgium and France towards Calais, taking one last look at the European countryside as your tour draws to a close. 

Afternoon

Board the ferry from Calais to Dover and enjoy the crossing back to the UK. 

Travel back to school. 

Evening

Arrive back at school with fantastic memories of an action-packed tour filled with watersports, adventure and unforgettable experiences.

Accommodation

DJH Xanten

This modern youth hostel is located on the banks of the Xanten Südsee in the Rhineland. There are nine meeting rooms available to hire for evening activities (or rehearsals for music groups), a lovely outdoor terrace and free WiFi in public spaces. A continental-style breakfast buffet is offered each morning, with other meals available if required. There are 16 double rooms, 50 multi-bed rooms and 2 wheelchair-accessible rooms - all featuring private bathroom facilities.

Creating your perfect sports tour

Your quote will be put together by an experienced Tour Adviser who’ll be an expert in school sports tours and will know the destination really well too. They’ll work with you to create a tour to suit your group’s needs and meet your tour objectives.

Launching your tour to parents and students

The next step is to get your tour approved and then get students signed up to it. Our ‘Trip Launch Pack’ will help you with this step. Here you’ll find loads of resources (all free to download) designed to make your life easier at this crucial point in the planning process.

After
you’ve booked

Once you’ve booked, your dedicated Itinerary Coordinator will start working on the finer details. They’ll make sure your itinerary makes the most of your time and they’ll take on most of the admin tasks for your tour (making the whole process a lot less stressful for you).

Support while
you’re away

While you’re out on tour, we’ll be at the end of the phone 24 hours a day to provide support should you need it. We’ll also send you a final info pack before you go and you’ll be able to access all your tour documents via the free Vamoos app.

After
your trip

When you return from your sports tour, we’ll ask you to complete a detailed feedback survey, which helps us continue to improve the service we offer. And we can start planning your next tour too, so you can give parents plenty of time to pay for it (and so it’s less stressful for you).
