Ski trip to Montgenevre

Halsbury Sticker

A school ski trip to Montgenèvre in France will offer you access to the Milky Way ski area – most of which is in Italy. This opportunity to ski in two countries and experience two cultures is one your students will never forget. The snow record here is fantastic, and better even than its Italian counterparts. The village itself is ideal for school ski groups – charming and quiet, this feels like a safe place to bring a group of students. The laid-back atmosphere and lack of boisterous nightlife means you can just relax and enjoy an unforgettable French ski holiday with your students. And, to make life even easier, your accommodation will be close to a lift, offering easy access to the slopes.

Ski Information Graphic

Skiing in Montgenevre

Montgenèvre is part of the Milky Way (Via Lattea in Italian) ski area, so choosing this resort for your school ski trip gives you convenient access to over 400km of piste. As most of the runs are above 2500m, the snow conditions are guaranteed throughout the season. The nursery slopes are at village level which is super convenient for beginners. Plus, thanks to the altitude, there’s no issue with snow cover here as there can be at other, lower resorts. Intermediates will have great fun with the excellent variety of runs that often start above the treeline, before descending through the trees. For the expert skiers, there are nine black runs in Montgenèvre itself, with plenty more challenging terrain throughout the rest of the Milky Way.

Accommodation

Hotel Miramonti

The popular Hotel Miramonti is a family run hotel and offers good accommodation for schools just a few minutes' walk from the main ski area in Claviere. The hotel occupies an elevated position with some great views, and as a smaller hotel it would be possible for a large group to have sole occupancy, making this the perfect base for a wonderful ski trip. The bar and restaurant area of the hotel is an excellent place to run any in-house après ski activities, and if more entertainment is required the main resort area is at the bottom of the hotel’s drive which means that everything is within easy reach. As such, hot lunches can be taken at the hotel and walking in ski boots and carrying skis is kept to a minimum. Rooms are basic but clean and functional all with ensuite facilities.

Hotel Savoia

The Hotel Savoia enjoys a convenient location close to the centre of Claviere. All Bedrooms are ensuite. The hotel is well suited for groups, having a Restaurant, Bar Lounge and TV room that could be used for group events. It also has ski storage onsite. Out of the hotel there is Ice Skating within walking distance of the hotel and a visit to a local pizzeria would offer a traditional taste of Italy. Further afield is the French town of Briançon with its pedestrianised old city, its shops or even its swimming pool for a change of sport.

Supporting you
every step of the way

Creating your perfect ski trip

Your quote will be put together by an experienced Tour Adviser who’ll be an expert in skiing trips and knows our resorts really well. They’ll work with you to create a trip to suit your group’s needs and budget.

Launching your trip to parents and students

The next step is to get your trip approved and get students signed up to it. Our ‘Trip Launch Pack’ will help you with this step. This is full of resources (all free to download) designed to make your life easier at this crucial point in the trip planning process.

After you’ve booked

Once you’ve booked, your dedicated Itinerary Coordinator will start work on the finer details. They’ll make sure your ski lessons, ski hire and après-ski activities are all sorted and they’ll take on most of the other admin tasks for your trip (so you can look forward to the trip as much as the kids).

Support while you’re away

While you’re abroad, you’ll be looked after by a Halsbury rep based in your resort. And Halsbury HQ staff will be on the end of the phone 24 hours a day. You’ll get a final info pack before you go with all the info you need, plus access to all your trip documents on the Vamoos app.

After
your trip

When you return from your trip, we’ll ask you to complete a detailed feedback survey, so we can continue our service. This is also the perfect time to start planning your next trip, so you can give parents plenty of time to pay for it (and make it easier for you).

Let's chat!

Firstly, I want to say a massive thank you for all of your help. The trip was amazing, for staff and pupils alike. I cannot say just how happy we are with Halsbury. The booking, organisation and running of the trip was easy and well structured. Lisa Brown was excellent with the admin and communicated consistently throughout, making the organisation simple. Our reps, Jon Doel, Tricia Cooke and Khursana Tairova, were fantastic. They took the time to get to know our staff and pupils, providing the best experience for all. We cannot emphasise enough just how great our experience was.
