Skiing in Jasper

The Marmot Basin is an ideal resort for school ski trips, as it allows for natural progression for learners, with quiet pistes and easy run-offs from all lifts. There are 84 exciting ski trails to explore at this resort, with something for every level of ability. Terrain suitable for beginners is accessible from almost every lift, so even the inexperienced can explore almost the entire area. Intermediates will love the well-groomed runs and wide, open bowls, and even advanced skiers will find plenty to challenge them. And the two terrain parks will keep snowboarders occupied too! Snow coverage is excellent as there is consistently plenty of natural dry powder snow. This resort is as unpretentious and friendly as they come, providing your students with a real, authentic Canadian skiing experience.

Accommodation

Lobstick Lodge

Always a popular choice among our groups, this lovely three star hotel is located on the outskirts of Jasper. All of the rooms sleep four students in two queen-size beds (as is often the case in North America) with staff in twin rooms. All rooms benefit from en-suite bathroom facilities, TVs, WiFi access and mini fridges. The hotel has an indoor heated swimming pool, Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna, plus indoor and outdoor hot tubs. There is also a lounge bar area with a roaring fire, a friendly country inn-style restaurant and a gift shop.

Amethyst Lodge

Just twenty-five minutes from the slopes and right in the heart of the town of Jasper, the Amethyst Lodge is an excellent 3* hotel which has been welcoming school groups from the UK for many years. It has two indoor hot tubs, meeting rooms that can be used for evening use and an excellent restaurant. Student rooms are for four people sharing two queen size beds, while staff are in twin rooms.

Creating your perfect ski trip

Your quote will be put together by an experienced Tour Adviser who’ll be an expert in skiing trips and knows our resorts really well. They’ll work with you to create a trip to suit your group’s needs and budget.

Launching your trip to parents and students

The next step is to get your trip approved and get students signed up to it. Our ‘Trip Launch Pack’ will help you with this step. This is full of resources (all free to download) designed to make your life easier at this crucial point in the trip planning process.

After you’ve booked

Once you’ve booked, your dedicated Itinerary Coordinator will start work on the finer details. They’ll make sure your ski lessons, ski hire and après-ski activities are all sorted and they’ll take on most of the other admin tasks for your trip (so you can look forward to the trip as much as the kids).

Support while you’re away

While you’re abroad, you’ll be looked after by a Halsbury rep based in your resort. And Halsbury HQ staff will be on the end of the phone 24 hours a day. You’ll get a final info pack before you go with all the info you need, plus access to all your trip documents on the Vamoos app.

After your trip

When you return from your trip, we’ll ask you to complete a detailed feedback survey, so we can continue our service. This is also the perfect time to start planning your next trip, so you can give parents plenty of time to pay for it (and make it easier for you).
