Resort Information
Your school ski trip to Zell Am See/Kaprun will see you stay in one of the prettiest areas in the Kitzbühler Alps. The charming town of Zell Am See perches on the edge of Lake Zell, which is in itself a breathtaking sight, particularly when it’s frozen over. The town’s streets are pedestrianised and there are plenty of restaurants, shops and cafes, giving you ample opportunity to pick up souvenirs, or sample the local cuisine. You certainly won’t be short of things to do here – there’s a sports complex with an indoor fun pool and ice-skating rink (hosting regular ‘premier league’ hockey matches). Or you can try curling and sleigh rides, or even visit the art galleries and museums.

Skiing Information
Your days won’t be wasted queuing as the 138km of pistes are served by 49 lifts. Despite being regarded as a low-altitude ski area, the highest slopes reach an impressive 3030m (up on the Kitzsteinhorn glacier) and, with all of the well-groomed pistes covered by snow cannons, snow coverage tends to be pretty reliable here. The resort has a very diverse ski area with plenty of slopes for beginners and more experienced skiers - making it the ideal resort for a school ski trip to Austria.
Claviere is a very nice resort with a range of runs and lifts and little queueing. To include a day's skiing in Montgenevre is recommended, where a different range of runs are available.– Wollaston School
