Edinburgh is a fantastic location for a school music trip. The capital of Scotland offers your students the opportunity to explore the country's musical heritage and perform to some of the most welcoming audiences in the British Isles!

You’ll have a choice of unforgettable venues for your performances, from the historic St. Giles’ Cathedral, to the Botanical Gardens and the spectacular Stirling Castle. And when you’re not performing, you’ll be able to explore this beautiful city, making sure to include visits to its iconic castle and the famous Royal Mile.

Edinburgh is a wonderful place to visit with your ensemble at any time of year, but during August you’ll have the opportunity to choose to attend the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.

St. Giles' Cathedral

The focal point of the Scottish Reformation, and regarded as the Mother Church of World Presbyterianism, St. Giles' Cathedral is a fantastic venue for choirs and can also accommodate orchestras, depending on repertoire. On the historic Royal Mile, you'll be performing in the heart of Edinburgh. Sacred, classical and secular repertoires are all welcome.

Edinburgh Farmers' Market

Perform an outdoor concert in the heart of Edinburgh at this wonderful farmers' market, which is held in the shadow of Edinburgh Castle. Bands and orchestras are able to perform their secular repertoires to audiences of locals and tourists.

Strachan House Care Home

A warm welcome is guaranteed for your ensemble at Strachan House Care Home! The residents and staff are very used to welcoming youth music groups, especially choirs with a secular repertoire.

One of the greatest castles in Scotland, Stirling Castle is famous for its impressive architecture and spectacular surroundings. Your band can perform your secular repertoire here as an outdoor concert to the tourists visiting the castle.

Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh

Founded in 1670, the Royal Botanic Garden is one of Edinburgh's most popular tourist destinations. The 70 acre site is a popular place among locals for walking. It also hosts regular live music events throughout the year.
