The equally picturesque Moselle Valley is known for its wine towns such as Cochem and Trier, and provides stunning outdoor performance opportunities in town squares and at local wine festivals.

This is the heart of fairy tale Germany, where you'll find enchanting forests, bewitching castles and charming towns and villages. 

Beethoven was born in the area (in the city of Bonn), and a visit to the composer's birthplace (now home to a small museum) is often a popular inclusion on our groups' itineraries. And make sure you don't miss out on an opportunity to enjoy a river cruise - it's the best way to see the region's spectacular landscape.

Concerts take place in the market square surrounded by cafes and shops. During their summer wine festival performances are tremendously successful. Chairs and power for electrical equipment areprovided.

There are many wine festivals in the Rhine and Moselle where music groups can take part in the celebrations offering music entertainment to visitors. Concerts are mainly outdoors and take place in charming surroundings overlooking the river.

Bad Ems Bandstand & Marble Hall

Bad Ems is located on the banks of the River Lahn and has a stunning riverside bandstand where groups can perform. Another lovely performance venue here isthe Marble Hall, located in the Kurhaus. This romantic and elegant spa town has inspired many composers, such as Richard Wagner and Jacques Offenbach.

Cologne Cathedral

The largest Gothic Church in Northern Europe, Cologne’s cathedral can be seen throughout the city thanks to its tall twin spires.

This makes it a real focal point for the city and, therefore, performances here often draw good audiences. Your ensemble will never forget the experience of performing in such spectacular surroundings.

Accommodation

Rheinhotel Wagner

Stay in the heart of a UNESCO World Heritage Site at the Rheinhotel Wagner. The beautiful surroundings are characterised by castles and vineyards - this is truly fairy tale Germany.All 58 guest rooms are en-suite and offer cable TV. Please note that this hotel has typical 'German beds' ie. twin beds pushed together in one wooden frame. There are however two separate mattresses and two separate duvets etc.There is an on-site restaurant, where you can sample some of the traditional local dishes, as well as a bar with a lovely garden terrace.

JUFA Hotel Königswinter, Bonn

Located in Germany's oldest nature park, the JUFA Hotel Königswinter/Bonn was newly opened in 2017. Students are accommodated in spacious multi-bedded rooms with en-suite facilities, with adults in twin rooms. The JUFA Hotel Königswinter/Bonn offers a theatre room with a stage, as well as multiple seminar rooms.

DJH Gemund

The DJH Gemund is located in the Eifel National Park, right on the edge of the forest, which makes it a lovely base for your tour to the Rhineland. The hostel opened in 2020 and is modern and bright with fantastic facilities including a gorgeous roof terrace and indoor climbing wall. The hostel can offer a special package for music groups that includes the use of a piano or keyboard and rehearsal space. There are 14 twin rooms and 38 quads, all of which benefit from en-suite bathroom facilities.
