School Ski Trip to Cimone

High-altitude resort
Hot lunches on slopes
Ideal for learners

Resort Information

The charming resort of Cimone is not only the highest peak in the Northern Apennines (at 2,165m) but also the most popular ski resort in the area. Our groups normally stay in the nearby towns of Fanano, Sestola and Riolunato - all of which have plenty of amenities, including shops and cafes. There are also lots of nearby activities for après-ski fun to keep your group entertained all week. These include things like ice skating, swimming, pizza nights, discos and snowshoeing, to name but a few. And, as an additional bonus, hot lunches and ski storage are provided on the slopes, so that once you leave the hotel in the morning you won’t need to return until the end of the day. Cimone is an excellent location for a school ski trip to Italy.

Skiing Information

Cimone has more than 60km skiable piste, made up of 31 slopes served by 21 lifts. It’s a fantastic resort for children learning to ski, as the slopes are pretty much empty mid-week, even during the busy February half term. You’ll find virtually no lift queues to worry about, so your students will be able to spend more time skiing compared with many other resorts. Our groups generally start their skiing from either the Passo del Lupo or the Le Polle ski areas, and the nursery slopes here are excellent. Progression slopes are in abundance, as the students’ confidence grows through the week, with some of the red runs naturally creating smiles from ear to ear. The ski school is friendly and patient, and they really get the best out of the students, as more time is spent concentrating on their technique and less on rushing to their next class, like at busier resorts.

The skiing available in Arinsal at Easter was excellent and the opportunity for pupils to travel over to Pal was a great addition to their skiing experience. All instructors spoke excellent English and progressed even the very beginners group to skiing from the top of the mountain. – St. Brigid's School
