Sports quiz night
Why not hold a sports quiz night in your school hall, along the lines of A Question of Sport?
You could charge an entry fee per team and sell refreshments!
Teachers vs students sporting event
Whether it’s netball , football or even crab football, a teachers vs students match will certainly bring in the crowds!
Sell tickets and refreshments to raise funds. Family sports day Arrange a festival of sport on your school playing field and invite the school community to join you.
You could sell tickets and refreshments to help you raise funds. You could host a number of parents vs teachers, teachers vs students and students vs parents matches.
You could also have a number of sporting challenges for people to pay to enter, with the winner receiving a prize.
Organise a walkathon
A walkathon is a fantastic, inclusive activity that will not only help to raise funds through sponsorship but could also encourage healthier habits among your school community.
Run, cycle or row your way to a destination
As a group, get sponsored for running, cycling or even rowing to a specific destination. This works best if there’s a destination that has a specific meaning to your school community, such as a partner school abroad or your next school sports tour destination.
Take it in turns to do your bit, eventually covering the distance between you.
You may need to borrow some equipment – a local gym may be happy to let you use theirs in return for the good publicity and raising their profile among the school community.
Anything else?
There are a few other, more traditional fundraising ideas you might also like to try, such as bag packing at the local supermarket, running a car wash in the school car park or running a car boot sale.
