Totally revamped to host the 2006 Olympics, Bardonecchia is now a top-class ski resort. A school ski trip to Bardonecchia offers excellent facilities at a high-altitude ski resort, without all the hustle and bustle of some other alpine resorts. The town, on the French-Italian border, is not a purpose-built ski resort, so it has retained its alpine charm. Plus, Bardonecchia boasts the friendly, tranquil atmosphere you would expect to find in a historic mountain village, which really suits the needs of school ski groups. Bardonecchia has an excellent snow record and, as the slopes are predominantly north-facing, snow cover is consistently conserved.

Starting at 1300m, this resort is higher than many others, extending up to 2750m. Most of the skiing is above 1500m, which is the height beginners can expect to start with. There is good progression from the beginner slopes to the intermediate level, and from there on to the more advanced slopes, so skiers/boarders of all abilities tends to improve quickly in Bardonecchia. There's an exciting snowpark too, with different zones including a number of rails, jibs and jumps that your snowboarders will love! Perhaps the greatest thing about a school ski trip to Bardonecchia is that you’ll return home satisfied that your students have skied as much of the mountain as they are capable of.
