Swap Your Poles for Paddles This Year!

Many of you were unable to take your students skiing this season thanks to the global pandemic. But what if we told you that you could still take them on an unforgettable activity holiday this academic year?

Our pals over at Halsbury Sport have introduced three fantastic water sport trips within the UK. You can choose from the incredible Lake District, the National Water Sports Centre at Holme Pierrepont in Nottingham, or Lee Valley White Water Centre which was built to host the London 2012 canoe slalom events.

Another great benefit of staying in the UK for your next school trip is that you'll be helping the local economy bounce back from what has been a very difficult year.

Why would I take my ski group on a school water sports tour?

Although very different from skiing, school water sports tours do offer some similar benefits. Both activities offer students the opportunity to enjoy being active in the Great Outdoors, which can offer fantastic benefits for their mental wellbeing.

And after a very disrupted year, it offers your group the chance to reconnect with each other and enjoy some great teambuilding activities.

Both school water sport tours and school ski trips also offer children the opportunity to try activities they may never have tried before. And this could be the start of a lifelong passion!

Even if it isn’t, a school water sports tour, like skiing, will help your students to see that there are many more activities available to them outside those that are usually offered as part of the PE curriculum. It can set them on the path to discovering an activity that works for them and encourages them to lead active, healthy lives.

What can I expect from Halsbury’s school water sport tours?

All of our water sports centres have been purpose-built and, therefore, boast world-class facilities.

And you’ll stay on site at our water sports centres so that you can be close to the action and can enjoy all that your spectacular surroundings have to offer.

You’ll be provided with high-quality equipment and all the instructors are highly qualified. They will provide safety briefings to ensure the health and safety of your group in and around the water.

And you’ll have a great choice of activities, from kayaking, to stand up paddle boarding, and sailing to white water rafting.

Some of our centres also offer non-water-based activities, including archery and high rope courses.

You’ll receive the same level of service as you would on one of our school ski trips, including 24/7 support while you’re away on your trip.
