The King's School Worcester Take Paris By Storm

King's School Worcester

During February half term, the King’s School Worcester’s school choir and chamber orchestra took part in a school music tour to Paris, where they had the opportunity to perform Mass at the iconic Notre Dame, as well as performing concerts at Saint-Sulpice and La Madeleine.

By all accounts, the performances went down a real treat! At the end of Mass in Notre Dame, the choir were invited to process out to rapturous applause from the 500-strong congregation, whilst at the Saint-Sulpice and La Madeleine concerts cries of ‘Bravo!’ could be heard over the applause at the end of every piece.

The tour included a number of other treats for these talented young musicians. As well as exploring the Louvre and taking in the view from the top of the Montparnasse Tower, those pupils studying the organ had the chance to see the Grand Orgue at Notre Dame being played:

“The organ is one of the best in the world and it was a real treat to hear this massive instrument being put through its paces.”

To see just how talented these brilliant young performers are, just check out this great video of their performance at Notre Dame.

We’re delighted that the group had such a fantastic time in the French capital and hope that these unique performance experiences have left them feeling inspired.
