Bring WW1 poetry to life on your English literature school trip to the battlefields of the Somme!

In particular, the Somme is the ideal destination for groups studying the poetry of Wilfred Owen, especially thanks to the Wilfred Owen’s Footsteps Trail, which will help your students to better understand the experiences that inspired the poetry.

Why not join forces with your school's history department to make this a cross-curricular trip? We also offer multiday options, including the opportunity to cross over the border into Ypres.

To get the most out of your school trip to the Somme, we would highly recommend an overnight stay. Less tiring and much easier logistically, overnight trips often offer better value for money. Contact us for details!

We have had a great time and Halsbury's organisation is a massive part of taking away the stress and strain of organising such a big trip. The trip was well planned and had an activity-filled itinerary that the students very much enjoyed. — Selby High School
