Where Are You Going Next October Half Term?

So many of you have missed out on school music tours this half term. And we’re expecting availability to be quite limited next October half term, as everyone rushes to start touring again.

So many of you have missed out on school music tours this half term. And we’re expecting availability to be quite limited next October half term, as everyone rushes to start touring again.

That’s why we’ve brought in a range of new initiatives to help you start planning now for next year, so you don’t miss out on another tour.

Firstly, you can secure your tour with a reduced deposit of just £100*. And there’ll be nothing else to pay until 30th June

Delphine’s top picks for autumn 2021

We’ve just added Liverpool to our portfolio of UK tours and we’re pretty excited about the opportunities it offers for ensembles.

Both the Anglican and Catholic cathedrals are possible venues, with both offering different but equally memorable performance experiences for choirs with a sacred repertoire.

You can also perform at the Royal Albert Dock, one of Liverpool’s most popular tourist attractions. You can be certain of a sizeable audience here, made up of tourist and locals visiting the many cultural attractions, bars and restaurants around the dock.

And finally, what could be the highlight of the tour for any ensembles interested in musical history is the opportunity to perform at the world-famous Cavern Club. The club is synonymous with the Beatles, Liverpool’s most famous export and perhaps the most influential band of all time.

Plus, if you, your school or parents are concerned about quarantine rules potentially still being in place next autumn (of course, we all hope they’re a distant memory by then…), then a school music tour to Liverpool avoids that possible complication and could, therefore, be a good bet for your first tour back post-pandemic.

Rhine and Moselle

The Rhine & Moselle is one of our most popular destinations. Not only is it a spectacular area, full of charming towns and villages and fairy tale castles, but it’s also a bit of a paradise for music-lovers.

This is, after all, the area that gave us Beethoven. Bonn holds an annual Beethovenfest celebrating the composer.

And that’s not the only festival the area is famous for. As well as an international jazz festival, there are a number of wine festivals held here throughout the summer and into early autumn.

There are lots of opportunities here for outdoor performances, which is what draws ensembles here. You’ll perform in town squares, in lovely bandstands and even at local wine festivals, if the timing is right. What you can always be sure of is a warm reception from the locals and tourists that make up your audience.

Lake Garda

There are few more picturesque destinations for a school music tour than Lake Garda. This magnificent Alpine Lake is famous for its crystal clear waters and the impressive surrounding mountains.

Autumn is a wonderful time to visit Lake Garda – the combination of the autumnal light and the changing colours of the leaves make it even more beautiful.

Lake Garda is a great choice for a school music tour at any time of the year though, thanks to the great variety of performance venues available, from intimate local churches to impressive castles and even Gardaland, Italy’s largest theme park!
