Ferry trips
Although some groups experienced significant delays at the port of Dover, which was closed for 9 hours on Friday evening, all groups eventually made it across the channel and could continue on their journey. Our French and German work experience groups had to stop somewhere overnight en route but have all now reached their destinations safely.
Flight trips
All flight groups have travelled with only a couple of minor delays.

Ferry & Channel Crossings 14th and 15th February 2014
The weather forecast for the channel for the 14th & 15th February is for frequent moderate to heavy rain with moderate to strong winds and moderate to high seas. Groups travelling to Dover are advised to check in as normal. Wind and sea conditions coupled with high volumes of traffic may mean that there are some delays but ferries will travel as close as possible to schedule and traffic will be dispatched on first available crossings. There is no spare capacity on any of the cross channel services to be able to consider alternative routes (and there is no spare capacity to be able to book earlier or alternative crossings.)
