Celebrating 30 years of School Travel

2016 is a very special year for us here at Halsbury, as it marks our 30th anniversary. It was all the way back in 1986 that a French teacher, Keith Sharkey, decided to devote his life to helping other teachers provide their students with the unforgettable educational travel experiences that he knew from his own experience were of incredible benefit to young people.

He created Halsbury Travel with his fellow teachers in mind, providing a service that would make the whole process of arranging school trips much easier and less stressful.

Over the last 30 years, Halsbury Travel has developed from a small, home-run business to the ‘fastest-growing educational tour operator’ in the UK in 2015. The company remains fiercely independent, however, and Keith is still our Managing Director. Alongside him, his wife, Sue, and children, Stuart and Katie, help to run the leading school tour operator. They are supported by a dynamic team of over 60 former teachers and school travel specialists.

To celebrate this very special anniversary, we are offering one very lucky group the opportunity to travel to one of our favourite destinations, Iceland, at 1986 prices! Find out more.

To find out more about our story, please see our anniversary timeline.

Join us on a tailor-made school trip this year to find out why, after 30 years, we are still the leaders in school travel. Contact us today to find out what we can arrange for your group.
