In these uncertain times, we know you need our support now more than ever.
To make sure we support you in the right way, we reached out to all our customers to ask what you needed us to do to help you to book and travel with confidence again.
You told us that you had two key areas of concern. The first was the financial implications of having to cancel tours. And the second was how we as your school tour operator would ensure the health and safety of your group.
Our Covid guarantee addresses both these concerns.

Travel With Confidence
We’ve always prioritised our groups’ safety and this is still the case. In reaction to the crisis, we’ve formed a Health and Safety Committee, which is led by Silvia Vintem, our Head of Health and Safety.
This committee has been working closely with all our suppliers, from accommodation and coach providers to venues and activity providers, to ensure that every precaution is taken to ensure your group is safe while on tour.
What are our suppliers doing?
Hotels/accommodation providers
The School Travel Forum (STF) have provided new guidance for accommodation providers to follow, with a focus on infection surveillance. And, as an Assured Member of the STF, we have made it a requirement that all our accommodation providers must ensure they follow these.
All have completed a checklist set out by the STF confirming these new measures are in place and being adhered to.
Our accommodation centres will provide information relating to any procedures they have put in place to prevent the spread of Covid-19, which could include:
• Social distancing
• Meticulous personal hygiene
• Effective and regular sanitising of hand touch points
• Contactless payments
• Guest accommodation cleaned with chemicals proven to be effective against Covid-19 and rooms disinfected and sealed after cleaning and before next use
• Use of face masks within public areas, use of disposable gloves
• Temperature checks
Coach Providers
Our coach suppliers are all following new cleaning protocols and establishing new guidelines to minimise risk.
What is Halsbury doing?
Adjusted Itineraries
We’re keeping up to date with the regulations in all our destinations. Should a change in the regulations in your destination affect any visits or activities (e.g. maximum group sizes or social distancing rules), then we will adjust your itinerary accordingly.
In-Country/Destination Guidance
And of course, we’ll make sure you have the most up to date information regarding the regulations in your destination prior to your departure.
Meals
We’re working with restaurants to ensure that local Covid health and safety procedures and guidelines are being followed. We’re also making sure that mealtimes are adjusted to quieter times of day.
