Arrive in Ypres
Short on time but still keen to bring the poetry of WW1 to life for your students? An English literature school day trip to Ypres is ideal!
The fierce fighting on the Ypres Salient was brought to life by the poetry of the likes of John McCrae and Wilfred Owen. And visiting the WW1 battlefields will help your students to contextualise the poetry they’re studying, to better understand the experience of the poets.
You could choose to join forces with your school's history department to make this a cross-curricular trip. And if you prefer to spend a couple of days in the WW1 battlefields, then check out our multiday options!

A fabulous trip, the organisers couldn't do enough for us. The students loved it and the itinerary planned was so varied that the students were amazed by the amount of experiences that they received in such a short amount of time.
