For 2008 the Memorial Museum Passchendaele 1917 are organizing a new school project to get student more involved into the Great War. The new educational project ‘The Platoon Experience’ let youngsters identify themselves for one day with an Australian soldier’s life, participating in the Tyne Cot attack of 4 October 1917. To have an as close as possible experience, they are fully equipped with uniform, package and rifle. With this project, the Passchendaele museum is the first one to introduce the living history concept in Flemish education. A unique and thrilling experience for students and teachers.
