DFDS’ newest ferry, Côté des Dunes, made its maiden voyage from Calais to Dover on Tuesday (9th February). One of two new additions to the ferry operator’s Dover-Calais route, these two ferries join Calais Seaways and enable DFDS’ daily schedule of sailings between the two ports to now rise to up to 30 per day.
Along with the company’s three ferries operating the Dover-Dunkirk route, these new additions now mean that DFDS is operating the largest fleet on the Dover Strait and offers up to 54 sailings per day to the French ports.
Côté des Dunes has undergone a complete refurbishment and offers excellent facilities for passengers, including several cafes, bars and restaurants, as well as a large shop. There is a children’s play area for younger passengers and a Premium Lounge where those who wish to travel in style can enjoy complimentary teas and coffees. For commercial drivers, there is a dedicated area with showers, a restaurant and a quiet lounge.
