Tour at a Glance

Who? Cox Green School, Berkshire

Where?  Real Madrid

When? October 2017

What sport?  Football

Cox Green School recently visited Real Madrid on their school football tour. Their mission for the week – to experience life as a professional footballer and to develop their own footballing skills.

Every day they enjoyed training at Valdebebas, Real Madrid’s world-class training facility, where the first team also train.

There they enjoyed two coaching sessions per day, led by Real Madrid’s own youth coaches.

The facilities and the coaching at Real Madrid are first class. You expect the best from the biggest club in the world and that’s exactly what they deliver.” Teacher, Cox Green School

The facilities at Valdebebas really are outstanding, with multiple pitches to train on, all of which are in excellent condition. And the quality of the coaching is also fantastic.

As you would expect of one of the world’s biggest clubs, the coaches are incredibly professional and will mould your sessions to meet your objectives for your students.

We’ve seen a massive improvement in five days with a lot of our players. We’ll be taking ideas from those sessions back to our lessons at home.” Teacher, Cox Green School

The students were even provided with Real Madrid training kits – making them look very professional while on tour and leaving them with a fantastic memento when they returned home.

In the evenings, the group had the opportunity to put what they’d learnt in their training sessions into action, as they took on local Spanish opposition.

They also had the opportunity to enjoy a number of fun activities during their tour, including a behind-the-scenes tour of the Santiago Bernebeu. They saw all the trophies that Real Madrid have collected over the years, as well as the changing rooms, where their heroes prepare for every match.

And for many in this football-mad group, the highlight of the tour was watching Real Madrid in action at home against Eibar.

I one hundred per cent want to go on more school tours in the future, this has been amazing and I don’t want to leave.” Student, Cox Green School

As you can see from the video of their tour, the group from Cox Green School had a fantastic time in Madrid.
