Halsbury to Sponsor National Schools Snowsport Week15/05/2019 09:16:31
We’re very pleased to announce that Halsbury Ski are the new sponsors of National Schools Snowsport Week!
This is the perfect partnership, as National Schools Snowsport Week (NSSW) offers young people the opportunity to enjoy their first taste of snowsports.
And those who’ve had some experience of snowsports won’t be left out either, as they can try their hand at racing, freestyle or boardercross.
Why is Halsbury getting involved in NSSW?
We’re hugely excited to be involved in this campaign, as we passionately believe that snowsports are far more than an exciting leisure activity – they offer young people the opportunity to develop their physical fitness and ability, as well as their cognitive skills.
They’re also excellent for character building, helping young people to become more responsible, to build up their resilience and to develop their communication skills.

We’ve also recently taken over the running of the International Schools Ski Championship, which offers those with previous experience of snowsports the chance to enjoy a racing experience and all the benefits that offers.
What is NSSW?
The National Schools Snowsport Week campaign is run by Snowsport England, which is the national governing body for snowsports in England, and is now sponsored by Halsbury Ski.
The campaign aims to provide young people with the opportunity to try something new that may, for some, become a hobby for life or even a future career!
National Schools Snowsport Week involves many clubs and ski slopes across the country offering discounted or even free taster sessions to young people.
How big is NSSW?
First piloted in 2016, the campaign has grown rapidly, with nearly 3500 young people getting involved last year.
This year, with Halsbury Ski on board, it’s hoped that the campaign will reach even more young people.
What about this year’s campaign?
This year, National Schools Snowsport Week will run from 24th – 30th June.
The launch event will take place at the Chill Factore in Manchester. Of course, we’ll be there, as will a couple of celebrity ambassadors and two school groups who will enjoy a free taster session.
For more information on which clubs and ski slopes will be holding sessions this year, please keep your eye on the campaign’s website.
Why should your school get involved in National Schools Snowsport Week?
Of course, getting involved in NSSW means more young people will have the opportunity to experience all the benefits that skiing offers. It could also help you to gauge the possible interest in a school ski trip if you're thinking of starting such a trip. And if you already run regular school ski trips, it could help you to increase the uptake for your next trip!
