School Politics trip to Philadelphia

Philadelphia is the birth place of the USA as we know it today. In 1776 a committee, including John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, Robert R. Livingston, and Roger Sherman, was assigned to draft a Declaration of Independence. A vote was taken in the afternoon of July 4th and of the 13 colonies, 9 voted in favour of the Declaration. On July the 8th the Liberty Bell rang summoning citizens to hear the first public reading of the Declaration. The rest, as they say is history. Philadelphia is a wonderful city to experience the beginning of today’s United States.
