Not only can you experience a performance first hand you can take workshops in dance, acting or singing. New York is also a major filming location so take the opportunity to see some of the sites of your favourite shows and movies and get the inside knowledge from local guides. This is the original Guggenheim, conceived by Solomon Guggenheim in 1937 as an exhibition space for twentieth-century art. Frank Lloyd Wright’s striking curved snail-shell of a building is home to temporary exhibitions and works from the Guggenheim’s rotating permanent collection, including pieces by Picasso, Cézanne, Gauguin and Kandinsky.

No trip to New York would be complete without a visit to the Statue of Liberty; the city’s iconic symbol. Hostelling International NY
HI-New York is Manhattan’s premier hostel - located in a landmark building on the Upper West Side built in 1883 to help widows of both the Revolutionary War and the war of 1812 and opened as HI- New York in 1990. It is just one block from Broadway Avenue and a main subway line, and only minutes from Central Park.
They offer clean, modern mixed and separate male/female dormitory style accommodation (four to twelve-bedded rooms) with shared bathrooms in the hallways. Linen, towels and a housekeeping service are provided. Private rooms with and without baths are available for your convenience.
