School French trip to Opal Coast

Visit Calais, Boulogne or Le Touquet and be spoilt for choice of activities. A wide range of excursions are available in this area including visiting a chocolate factory, a bakery, the Bagatelle theme park, Agincourt historical museum, Nausicaa Sea world, go to the seaside or experience the atmosphere at one of the local markets. Make it a one day school trip, or stay for a couple of days to really explore and use the French language.

Nausicaa

Nausicaa Sea Life Centre is a great visit for French groups of all ages. Students are invited to learn about the marine environment, man's impact upon it and why it is important that marine life should be protected. Tropical lagoons, sea lion enclosures, shark tanks and affectionate stingrays are all very popular.Allow 1.5-2 hours for your visit.

Boulangerie "Le Fournil"

This traditional family-owned bakery is well worth a visit and is ideal for groups who are learning French. You will have the chance to watch a baker at work in the original part of the bakery and visit the modern part of the bakery to watch croissants being made. To conclude your visit, you will be able to sample fresh baguettes and croissants.

Bec a Suc

Bec a Suc
Patrick and Kerry give your group a warm welcome to their traditional sweet factory, including free tasters and a visit to the sweet shop. This is a great visit for French students.

Pain Show

Pain Show
Bring your French students to learn how speciality pancakes are made from the basic ingredients and help to produce them. In the end enjoy your own pancake with jam or chocolate sauce and an orange juice! You will also watch how the traditional French "patissiers" work the marzipan and will be given a marzipan souvenir for your School.

Day 2

Morning spent visiting a French Market, a Snail Farm or have a pancake demonstration at Restaurant City James.

Depart and head back to Calais.
Ferry/Eurotunnel crossing.
Arrive back at school.

FUAJ Boulogne

Situated halfway between the port and the old town, the centre is in an ideal location for visiting Boulogne and the region of the Pas-de-Calais. It includes a restaurant, bar, table tennis and TV area. Pupils will be accommodated in mainly triple rooms which are all en suite. Run by very friendly staff, this centre is enjoyed by school groups each year. Please note that if staff members require single rooms a supplement will apply.

Hippotel

The accommodation is in rooms of 2 to 6, with singles available for a supplement, each with bath or shower and separate WC. the rooms have TV with some English channels. There is a bar with terrace and a games area. Two conference rooms are available seating up to 30.
