Cité de la musique

The Cité de la Musique, located in the North-east of Paris, in the Parc de la Villette, was one of President François Mitterand's last projects. The Cité was inaugurated in January 1995 and is an invitation to discover music and its multiple aspects. It is a teaching centre (educational activities for adults and young people) and a place for playing music, finding information and discovering music heritage. The Cité de la Musique has something for everyone - music lovers, young people, performers and future performers, amateurs and music professionals.
