Words cannot adequately describe the enormity of the horror that the Jewish population of Europe experienced at the hands of the Nazi regime, which is why a history school trip to Germany or Poland can be of such enormous educational value.
We have extensive experience of taking students to the scene of the worst of these atrocities, the infamous Auschwitz- Birkenau extermination camp. Although this is can be a harrowing and emotional visit, it is of huge educational benefit in that it illustrates to the students the reality and extent of the Holocaust.
In Berlin, students have the opportunity to visit Sachsenhausen Concentration camp, as well as stand in Bebelplatz, the scene of the “Burning of the Books”. Groups can also visit the cities of Munich and Nuremberg, both of which played significant roles in the birth of the Nazi movement.
