School Christmas Markets trip to Düsseldorf

If you have already been to Aachen or Köln and fancy something a bit different then why not try Düsseldorf?

It is a similar distance to Köln, so there is no more travelling involved and the Christmas markets are not to be missed. The Marktplatz in front of the town hall hosts the most stalls, but the tempting scent of Glühwein (mulled wine) fills the air everywhere. Typical German Christmas gifts on sale include carved wooden nutcrackers from the Erzgebirge of Saxony and hand-blown glass from the Bavarian Forest. The festive atmosphere draws people to the streets seven days a week, keeping the winter gloom at bay and making for a delightful run-up to Christmas.
