Brussels has one of the most beautiful town squares in Europe. With a wide variety of nationalities and both French and Dutch accepted as official languages there is a cosmopolitan flavour to its atmosphere. The city centre is crammed with picturesque medieval streets, lively squares, beautiful boulevards, impressive monuments and spacious parks. It is also the European capital and home to the council of ministers of the European Union.
