Catalunya and its capital city of Barcelona have produced some of the most influential artists and architects of the twentieth century - including Picasso, Gaudí and Dalí and is a truly inspiring place to study art. Spend your time in the city strolling La Rambla, climbing the towers of the Sagrada Familia or visit the Picasso museum. This city is decidedly special with some of the world’s most beautiful, eccentric and cutting edge architecture. Enjoy the creations of Gaudi scattered over the city whilst stopping en-route to enjoy the local food and culture. Many groups stay at one of the coastal resorts Calella, Lloret de Mar, Blanes, Tossa de Mar and Rosas of the Costa Brava.

Picasso llived in Barcelona for several periods as a young man, and this museum has some important pieces from this formative period in his career at the turn of the century, some of them donated by Picasso himself. The museum - Barcelona's most visited - also hosts temporary exhibitions of Picasso's work and that of other artists of his era.

Parc Joan Miro

One half of the park is a blank expanse of paving with a large and fine sculpture by Joan Miro, the 22-metre high "The Woman and the Bird - Dona I Ocell". The other half, at a lower level is a lushy planted popular park, a great place to relax and at the same time appreciate one of the most famous pieces of Miro's work.

Hotel Vila

This charming three star establishment has been in the same family for three generations and offers personal attention in comfortable facilities (thanks to the recent and continuous programmes of refurbishment and modernisation). Pupils will be accommodated in mainly triple rooms, staff in twins unless singles are required - there will be a single room supplement. The bedrooms are equipped with en-suite bathroom, telephone, satellite television and safety deposit boxes. Please note some rooms may have balconies. Facilities include 3 lifts, swimming pool, television room and a lounge/bar.

Hotel Hawai

The Hawai/ Montevista Hotel is situated in Lloret de Mar just 500m from the beach, the hotel regularly welcomes school groups. Students are generally accommodated in triple or quad rooms and staff in twins. All rooms are en suite and have a safety deposit box and telephone.
Other facilities include 2 lifts, bar / snack bar, television lounge and a dining room. Central heating and air conditioning throughout the hotel. Garden with swimming pool, sunbathing terrace (free sunbeds) and a children's playground. Buffet with all meals.
