School Art trip to Budapest

The magical city of Budapest was created by the unification of the three cities of Buda, Óbuda and Pest in the year 1873, but in fact settlement in the area goes back as far as the second millennium BC. The Hungarian capital has a fantastic range of places for you to visit on your trip including the Fisherman's Bastion, the Royal Palace and the Heroes Square. The green filled parks full of charming pleasures, museums that will inspire and the musical legacy of its famous Opera houses make Budapest one of Europe's most delightful and enjoyable cities.

During your Art visit to Hungary your group will experience some of the best Museums and Galleries - to include the National Gallery, Museum of Fine Arts and Museum of Contemporary Arts.

Day 1
Morning or afternoon flight from the UK.
Transfer from Budapest Airport to the Hotel.
Local familiarisation on foot

Day 2
Morning visit to Castle Hill, home to the Royal Palace, National Gallery, Fisherman’s Bastion and Matthias Church .
Lunch followed by an afternoon at the Museum of Contemporary Art.

Day 3
Full day Art Nouveau guided tour of Budapest. This tour includes visits which are spread across the city and include the most outstanding examples of Art Nouveau architecture Budapest has to offer. This tour will cover external viewings of buildings as well as guided visits in the Gellért Baths, the Museum of Applied Arts and the Academy of Music whose edifice, completed in 1907 features the richest interior decoration ever built in this style in the capital.

Day 4
Morning group to spend time visiting Gellert Hill (The Liberation Monument, Citadel and Statue of St Gellért are located on the summit, providing stunning panoramic views of the city) Followed by shopping on VÁCI UTCA (Famous for its shops and promenade)
Transfer from the Hotel to Budapest Airport for return to UK

Gerand Hotel Eben

The three-star Hotel Eben offers good value accommodation in an ideal location close to the centre. The warm and friendly hotel is ideal for school groups with a management completely understanding of the needs of youth groups. Students are accommodated in multi-bedded rooms, with the accompanying staff in twin or single rooms. All the guest rooms have private facilities, with a shower, WC, cable television and telephone. The hotel is facilitated with a breakfast area and a banqueting room, and a television and video room. The Hotel Eben also includes a restaurant, wireless internet, a currency exchange bureau, beauty salon and a souvenir shop.
