Germany Travel Advice

The travel advice we have received from the Foreign Commonwealth Office in relation to the E. coli outbreak in Germany is as follows:

They advise travellers to Germany “to try and avoid eating raw tomatoes, cucumbers and lettuce following outbreak of haemolytic uraemic syndrome (HUS) caused by E. coli. German authorities have confirmed the outbreak and are advising people across Germany, and especially those in the north to avoid tomatoes, cucumbers and lettuce as a precaution.”

The UK Health Protection Agency are updating their advice regularly and advise travellers to follow the advice of the German authorities.

We will continue to monitor the advice of the FCO and will keep this page up to date with the latest developments.

We are liaising with groups due to travel in the near future and are advising them to follow the FCO guidelines regarding travel in Germany.
