Teaching languages in primary schools



It is the government’s plan that all primary schools in England will be teaching foreign languages by 2010, is you school ready yet?

Are you primary teachers confident and capable of teaching foreign languages, or would they benefit from further training?
It will become a compulsory part of the national curriculum, but it is feared that many teachers lack the skills needed to implement the foreign languages. If you are a primary school teacher and feel you need more training, courses and funding are available for both qualified and practising language teachers, primary teachers involved in language teaching and teachers re-training in foreign language teaching.
